Lobiondo Runs Hot and Cold

OFF-SHORE DRILLING

"M" how about?....... Lobi's Oil Mishap

1:30 AM.  Got home after 12 "M"  Since we lost  all of yesterdays changes "M" ....how's this new opening?

SteinforCongress AP:  Democratic President Barack Obama today (3-31-2010) announced that he is finally coming around, and is now FOR exploring and drilling off-shore along our East Coast - putting him squarely to the right of our own Congressman Frank LoBiondo.                                                                                   .
In 2008, as gas topped $3 a gallon, our Congressman-Frank LoBiondo held firm against any drilling in NJ until he was for it.(Sounding very John Kerry-esque)* That would be when gasoline approached $4 gallon- or about $140 bucks a barrel, late that summer.  Then in 2009, for some reason, he goes the other way once more and proposes

HR: 2439:  To prohibit the Secretary of the Interior from
issuing oil and gas leases on portion of the
Outer Continental Shelf located off the coast
                                            of New Jersey.

Either he suffered massive amnesia, and forgot the horror stories from the previous summer, since a barrel was now trading under $50, or it could have been that the Dems in 09 looked like they were on a roll after Obama's election.

Thankfully his bit of legislation, HR 2439,  went no-where; and neither did his proposal in the fall of 2008 to investigate the oil speculators, who it turns out, had a very bad year in 2009.  Now it's 2010, is your head spinning,  and  we'll  wait and hear what our Congressman says about all these Democrats, Independents and Republicans standing to his right on drilling, leaving him stranded with possibly Socialist Senator Bernie Sanders from Vermont as his only company.  This is plain nuts folks and calls into question our Congressman's ability to make sound judgments when it comes to Health Care, Immigration........

"I actually did vote for the $87 Billion
before I voted against it."

                                                                  Senator from Vermont
                                                                      Bernie Sanders

1:30 am  I'm undeterred, somebody with bucks hire that woman "M" as their campaign manager.  "M" darling, I know what you sent in that email, but maybe we can take some of the  "I told you so's" out on some other page?   Folks, this is what  "M" wrote to me earlier in the day...

The bragging and showing off is not pretty.  Making sure the reader gets that you             are insightful, progressive, future thinking, etc, is all good...But the NA-NA-NA is immature and a big negative.  And besides, it's getting old.  So what - you predicted stuff.  That's great.  What are you going to do about it.  Are you a talking head or are you a man of action?  And if Lobi is so bad for the job, why are you the right alternative.  You have five or six anti-Lobi campaigns going on.  How many more are you going to do?  How many more of the same points are you going to make.  Talk about redundant policies.  Say what you need to say about him, then move on.  If you are forward thinking, then it's time to move forward.

As of today,  3-31-2010
I am officially announcing my candidacy
for Congress of NJ 2nd District
 to the Atlantic City Press

===============================
11:30Am     3/31/2010
Spoke to AC Press, chief political reporter John Froonjan, and Editorial Page editor Carla Linz Callaway and I'm reasonably sure they understood my position that if there's a story tomorrow about Obama's new policy initiative and our Congressman is asked for his reaction- if any candidates are also asked- I'm requesting to be included.  I would also like to thank Ms. Callaway for taking the time out of her extraordinarily busy day to talk to me, not only about my 2010 run for Congress, but also on
my position on being decisively PRO-OFF SHORE DRILLING and for aggressively seeking new and cleaner energy resources and technologies, while still being mindful of our environment and future impact on the world.

++++++++++++++ PLUS.....I wanted to remind them what I said about Frank LoBiondo and Off Shore Drilling back in 2008 - before anyone heard of Tea Parties and average citizens going rightfully- bonkers with our Leaders) .  I was the only one talking practical solutions and compromise.

March 31, 2010

This morning, the country woke up to an eye-opening announcement by our Democratic (often labeled Socialist) President Barak Obama.  The President is proposing to open up the Central and Southern Eastern Coast - from Delaware south to Florida - to US Corporations for the purpose of exploring off-shore drilling.  Even if it's just a symbolic move and no significan oil is discovered, he is sending an important message to the world - WE ARE NOT GOING TO SIT IDLY BY AND LET OTHER NATIONS DICTATE TO US.  Obama, showing true American leadership, has taken a very courageous, decisive and insightful stance.
  ELECT GARY STEIN......
ALWAYS THINKING AHEAD

I TOLD YOU SO
Here's what I said in my 2008 SteinforCongress Website:

7/28/08
:

MAKE NICE ON ENERGY, (Like your jobs depended on it) WE HAVE TO HEAT OUR HOMES THIS WINTER.
But of course congress won't.  We say DRILL, 75% of Americans think WE should.  Better yet in the search for new energy sources, D-O  I-T  A-L-L. So please, drop the gamesmanship, before it's 12 months more of absolutely nothing!  But first take yourselves a one month August congressional vacation! Call it the Paris Hilton Plan (I can't believe what I saw on TV today 8/6/08) Or call it the Democratic Obama Plan, the Republican McCain Plan, The New Deal, The Fair Deal, nobody cares. GO drill off shore and in Anwar, eliminate Big Oil tax breaks, go with nuclear, fund alternatives, increase the gas tax, and send you a rebate.  Withdraw oil from strategic reserves, increase the Corporate Average Fuel Standards, take over GM., Ford and Chrysler health care..WHAAAT!.!!!!!!!  Call it the first step toward Universal Health Care.

(LOBIONDO'S STAND)  .....Consider his ideas on new energy policy. He says he's for a fast-track broad based plan with laser-type focus, then as a Republican, he probably should be for new offshore drilling, and fast. He is not. Is he saying let's send the most dollars we can to foreign governments, and sit on our reserves? And I wonder what the Mexican government will do about oil spills on their side of the 200 mile limit out in the Gulf of Mexico.

....Ironically, with the other party now inching towards the Republican position on new drilling, one day he's going to find himself to the left of the Democrats, or maybe he flip flops at $5 a gallon.  I think he's overplayed his environmental reputation with the voters, and in this election we shouldn't let him have his cake and eat it. If he thinks he's Al Gore, fine, he should step out from behind his warm and fuzzy words and take a leadership role as an environmentalist. I'd still disagree with him, but I could respect his position.and this final entry was then added concerning energy

9/18/2008

Like I predicted, in July, Congressman LoBiondo flips his position on off shore oil drilling.
