There is freedom within, there is freedom without
Try to catch the deluge in a paper cup
There's a battle ahead, many battles are lost
But you'll never see the end of the road
While you're traveling with me
Hey now, hey now Don't dream its over
Hey now, hey now When the world comes in
They come, they come To build a wall between us
We know they wont win
Now I'm towing my car, there's a hole in the roof
My possessions are causing me suspicion but there's no proof
In the paper today tales of war and of waste
But you turn right over to the t.v. page
Hey now, hey now Don't dream its over
Hey now, hey now When the world comes in
They come, they come To build a wall between us
We know they wont win
Now I'm walking again to the beat of a drum
And I'm counting the steps to the door of your heart
Only shadows ahead barely clearing the roof
Get to know the feeling of liberation and relief
Hey now, hey now Don't dream its over
Hey now, hey now When the world comes in
They come, they come To build a wall between us
Don't ever let them win

Winter of Our Discontent: The John Steinbeck 1961
Plot summary:The story revolves around Long Islander Ethan Allen Hawley, who works as a clerk in a grocery store he used to own. His wife and children resent their lowly social and economic position, and don't put any value in the high levels of honesty and integrity that Ethan struggles to maintain in a corrupt society. Under this constant pressure, Hawley will eventually manage to get back the store by renouncing his morals, but the new-found wealth will not bring happiness. Feeling the pressure from his family and acquaintances to achieve more than his current station, Ethan considers letting his normally high standards of conduct take a brief respite in order to attain a better social and economic position. On discovering that the current store owner, Italian immigrant Alfio Marullo, might be an illegal alien, he places an anonymous tip with the immigration and Naturalization Service..... Wikipedia
*Note from Stein for Congress 2010; Any similarities between the John Steinbeck novel, the 2010 Census, the 2nd district and illegal aliens are purely coincidental.
